Somebody keeps calling me and hanging up -- sometimes once a day, other times 10x in an hour or so. The couple times they don't hang up, they ask who I am, and I refuse to answer until they identify themselves; and they hang up.
I've tried ignoring the calls and they don't leave a message and keep calling back. If I try to talk to them, they hang up.
Recently, what pushed me over the edge is I was driving and got a call -- I thought it was an important call I was expecting but it was them again...this HAS to stop and it's been going on for more than a week.
The number appears on Caller ID so I did a reverse lookup and have their name, address, etc. and have been debating calling their Sheriff's department non-emergency number to file a complaint; I don't like to stir up trouble but this is bordering on harassment.Somebody keeps calling my cellphone and hanging up?

just call Verizon and get the number blocked

BORDERING? on harassment? I'd say its more than bordering. I would have no problem reporting them to the police. Its relatively easy for them to trace the number back to the owner and you may or may not want to press charges but you can sure put the fear of god into them. call your phone service on monday tell them call the cops tell them
but if they call you and ask who you are dont tell them your real name
say your someone made up like Jack Somthing but make the name sound realistic with your voice (fake name Billy Bob Joe Hurrington

You can get the phone company to block that specific caller. If they're calling from the same number every time, just get that number blocked and they won't be able to get through to you.
Consider having the number blocked from your phone. I know that you can do this from a landline phone and perhaps it can be done on cellphone. I would not change my number because that is a huge hassle.
If it's a kid, I would consider talking to the parents. If that won't work, the charges will have to be filed.
I hate it when people think that they can just harass others and get away with it.
