How can I block reverse lookup for my phone numbers?

I received the following email about blocking reverse number look up, but I can't figure out how to do it.

This is for USA phone numbers

Google has implemented a new feature which enables you to type a telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and you will be given the person's name and address. If you then hit Map, you will get a map to the person's house! It's a nationwide reverse telephone book.

If a child or adult gives out his/her phone number, someone can now look it up to find out where he/she lives. The safety issues are obvious.

Note that you can have your phone number removed or blocked. I tried my number and it came up along with the mapquest and directions stra ight to our house. I did fill out the removal form for myself, and encourage all of you to do the same.

In order to test whether your phone number is mapped, go to Google, http://www.google.com/ Type your phone number in the search bar (i.e. 555-555-12How can I block reverse lookup for my phone numbers?
www.411.com does the same thing and has been in use for 5+ years

get an unlisted phone #. How do I know it works? I just checked. :)How can I block reverse lookup for my phone numbers?
Make your phone number an unlisted number.

However if this freaks you out...um...this stuff has been online for years so your worried about nothing.

www.whitepages.com and others have offered reverse phone look up for a long time. This is just one of those silly chain emails designed to spook you into something.

Simple truth is talk to your children about what not to give away online and also inform them about the need to privacy. OH and btw keep tabs on who they are chatting with and where they go at night.
